TOM Radford from Tranmere sent in this photo, which was taken in Suez, Egypt, in 1952.

Tom said: "This was taken in Suez with the Cheshire Regiment in the time of the Suez Canal Emergency 1951-54.

"As you can see, the Birkenhead News was very welcome within the regiment.

"The photo shows (left to right) Jim Mansell from Ilchester Square, me - Tom Radford, George Poole from Brook St (now deceased) and Fly the dog.

“We were 18 years old at this time and we are now in our mid 70s. I’m hoping this photo will bring back some memories to the lads who served with the Cheshire Regiment at this time.�
