Gilbert Upton, Steve Wilson and Peter Bishop have signed a deal with a publishing company to write a new and comprehensive history of Tranmere Rovers.

"Tranmere Rovers 1884-2009" will, as the title suggests, be published next year - to coincide with the start of the 2009-10 season.

Steve said: "Ten years after 'Tranmere Rovers 1921-1997 - A Complete Record' and we are at it again. I look forward to working with Gilbert Upton and Peter Bishop."

The 500-page hardbook, based on the authors' research over 20 years, will include mini biographies of players, managers, a history of Prenton Park, results and memorable matches.

WHAT do you think should be included in the book? Tell us your memories of Tranmere Rovers by leaving a comment below.

Russell Buckley wrote...

My Grandad Harry Buckley was involved with Tranmere since the 1930's, He became a scout later on and brought some of the big name players to Rovers. In the late 1970,s when Jonny King was manager first time round I became a ball boy. My great nan knitted me very long blue and white scarf with white letters saying TRFC in the blue stripe and my initials RIB in blue in the white stripe. At the end of a game on my way out Jonny stopped me and asked why I had RIP TRFC on my scarf, when he looked closer he could see it was my initials RIB not RIP. I also ball boyed behind Ray clemences goal in the 0-0 league cup draw, I got spat at bottles and packets thrown at me by Liverpool fans but it was all worth it just walking onto the pitch with 16000 cheering fans and then meeting the Liverpool players including Kenny Dalglish after the match.
